For students who already rely on Notion to stay organized, turning those setups into income is one of the easiest ways to start making money online. And many Gen Z students are already doing it—without leaving campus, without needing followers, and without any upfront cost.
Notion is hugely popular among students because of its flexibility. You can build a custom class planner, assignment tracker, reading log, or exam prep board. With a little design sense and a few smart databases, your school life becomes 10x more efficient. But instead of keeping those tools private, savvy students are now offering them to others—and earning in the process.
They showcase their setups through TikTok videos with captions like “This is how I got straight As” or “This helped me manage 5 classes without burnout.” These clips feel personal and honest, which is why they go viral. Once interest builds, the creator links to the template through Gumroad or Notion.so, charging a few dollars per download. It’s low-cost for buyers, and high-margin for the creator.
Some students expand further by offering bundles or seasonal tools—like back-to-school planners or exam-week systems. Others even partner with digital creators to cross-promote their tools in videos or newsletters.
This trend shows how school life and digital entrepreneurship are merging. Gen Z isn’t just studying harder—they’re building tools, branding them, and learning how to market before even graduating.
